Introduction
The Sites from Scratch article series is intended to serve as the most basic introduction possible to learning how to correctly code your own web site. It covers XHTML and CSS coding from a best practices perspective
The lessons presented here (see the menu just above this text) are derived from countless hours of scratching around other people's code and reading their posts and articles, provided for free on the internet. All code samples within are yours to do with as you like. Please help yourself
All code provided here should validate to the relevant W3C standards. This is something that VNA strongly suggests of anyone coding for the web. Each example should work well in any modern browser, but has only been tested in the following browsers:
- OS X
- Internet Explorer for Macintosh 5.2
- Safari 1.1
- Windows XP
- Firefox 0.9.3
- Internet Explorer 6.0
- Netscape 7.0
- Opera Browser 7.3
If you discover any errors in the way examples display in a modern browser, please email the address below
